Born 1988 in Hartford, CT, the son of two musicians, Brendan has always been surrounded by music. Brendan’s first instrument was the Bassoon studying classical performance from the University of Connecticut. He stayed active playing multiple instruments and performing in several ensembles around the Hartford area. Today Brendan continues to play music with local bands in Brooklyn. While attending Full Sail University Brendan began his path towards becoming a recording engineer. He completed multiple internships including an intensive position with mastering engineer Bob Katz, an authority in the field of audio mastering. Brendan assisted Bob Katz in mastering hundreds of albums for artists such as Cassandra Wilson and The Krugger Brothers. Brendan moved back to Hartford, CT in 2010 and began engineering, including mixing for broadcast at a Nascar Speedway. He also started working as a microphone technician at Telefunken and recording at Telefunken’s in-house studio for artists including Jessica Childress, Big Head Todd, and Max Creek. In 2012 Brendan began working as a staff engineer at the world-renowned Jungle City Studios in New York City under Ann Mincieli. Some of the artists Brendan has engineered for include; Arethra Franklin, Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Harry Belofante, Paul McCartney, Santigold, Bleachers, and Jamie Foxx. Brendan has engineered on several of the biggest releases in the past few years; including Taylor Swift’s 1989, Rhianna’s Anti, and Kanye West’s The Life Of Pablo. For his engineering work on Taylor Swift’s 1989, Brendan won a Grammy for ‘Album of the Year’ at the 58 th Grammys.
